Wayne T. Carr Shares Image Of Green Lantern From Zack Snyder’s Justice League

Today is the 1st anniversary of the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice and a fan campaign is underway calling for WB to #RestoreTheSnyderVerse. It’s reminiscent of the campaign engaged on November 19th, 2019 to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut which saw several Justice League actors like Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck joining in by tweeting the hashtag too. As such, it’s been interesting to see if there would be any similar surprises today and sure enough one just dropped.

Actor Wayne T. Carr who was supposed to appear in Zack Snyder’s Justice as Green Lantern John Stewart has posted an HD photo of himself in the role.

For those wondering “wait, I thought the Snyder Cut had all of Snyder’s footage”, the story behind this is that originally the movie was supposed to end with Green Lantern, not Martian Manhunter, visiting Bruce at his house.

However, Warner Bros told Zack he couldn’t use the character because they were planning to introduce their own version in the upcoming HBO Max Green Lantern tv series (or is it a film now?). WB hasn’t given any further updates on the project in 2 years so it’s strange why Zack couldn’t use the character, especially since they claimed everything is a multiverse now so it shouldn’t matter if there are two versions.

As a result, Zack had to change the scene to use Martian Manhunter instead, but he went ahead and filmed his intended ending anyway either just for himself or maybe in the hope that WB would change their mind.

What’s most crazy about all this is that Zack literally shot the scene in his driveway – and it looks this good!

This isn’t even the first time we’ve seen this shot before. Zack shared it with fans at an event way back in 2021.

This is just the first time we’ve seen it in glorious HD.

I continue to be impressed by how well Snyder and company are able to build hype for a currently inactive and technically abandoned DC film universe while WB’s own efforts for the “official” active universe just has me shaking my head due to their unclear plan and strange decisions. It’s a shame they refuse to utilize Snyder even a little bit when he clearly can work magic with very limited resources and seems to have his finger on the pulse of what truly excites DC fans.

I started reading comics as a kid in the early 90s. My favorite characters were always Superman, Batman, X-Men, and Spawn. "The Dark Knight Returns", "The Death of Superman", and "Knightfall" were the storylines that got me into DC.
