Wonder Woman
In the ancient days the Greek gods created the Amazons, fierce female warriors who lived on the island of Themysicara, also known as Paradise Island. Zeus, King of the Gods, and Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, had a child together named Diana. Princess Diana grew up on Themysicara being told she was birthed out of clay – it was only later she learned that she was actually the daughter of Zeus and thus a demigod. She was trained in the art of combat by the Amazons and Ares, the God of War himself.
When she reached adulthood her life was changed when a pilot named Steve Trevor crash landed on the island. This was the first human man she had ever seen in her life. Trevor asks for the Amazons help dealing with problems in Man’s World and they agree to send an ambassador back with him. They hold a contest to choose who will go and, against her mothers wishes, Diana defeats the other Amazons to win the right to go. Due to the magic that hides the island, she is unable to remember how to get back when she leaves.
In the real world, she takes on the civilian name Diana Prince. As a result of her heroic activities she begins to be called Wonder Woman by the outside world.
As Wonder Woman, she wears a tiara, Bracelets of Submission, and battle armor. Her weapons are a sword, shield, and the Lasso of Truth, which compels people to tell the truth when ensnared by it. Although in some iterations she can physically fly, she also gets around in an Invisible Jet.
Wonder Woman is a symbol of Peace but is willing to do whatever is necessary to achieve it, including killing if need be. Together with Superman and Batman she forms what is known as The Trinity.
